CAN SCIENCE FICTION PREPARE YOU FOR AN EARTHQUAKE?

This week, Adam Rothstein released a realistic fiction piece about a big earthquake striking Portland.  Rothstein spent nearly a year researching possible scenarios after a hypothetical 9.0 magnitude earthquake epicentered 50 miles off the Oregon coast. As Rothstein explains in his introduction, using speculative fiction is a device to “engage the threat.”  Thinking about these scenarios motivates people to become more disaster ready. Be prepared!

100th EAGLE SCOUT
